The next morning we took a 3 hours bus ride to Songpan. Songpan is a small town in northern Sichuan province. It is best known for the horse trekking you can do around here, but even without the horse trek it is a pleasant place to rest. After a few nights almost without sleep since we’ve landed in China we both felt weak when we got to Songpan, so we decided not to do the horse trekking (the trek is at high altitude). Instead we spent two relaxing days in the town. We stayed at Old Street Hostel. The owner does not speak much English, but gave us a decent price (190 yuan per night during national holiday in October) and the room was nice and cozy.
