European Vibe and Great Food in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is the capital and the biggest city in Argentina. The city is full of beautiful European- like architecture, great nightlife and restaurants.

We stayed 4 nights at Pax Hostel in San Telmo neighborhood. This hostel was the cheapest we stayed in Argentina. Location was good, staff were ok and we met lots of new friends in the hostel. The beds were really uncomfortable, breakfast was lame. You get what you pay for…

Our rating for Pax Hostel is 5 out of 10.

We met a great Australian guy who lived some months in Buenos Aires. We spent our time together and he showed us around. The best activity you can do in Buenos Aires is just to walk around the city and enjoy the beautiful buildings and parks.

You should spend some time visiting San Telmo neighborhood, the beautiful Recoleta cemetery and Recoleta neighborhood, and the area of Plaza de Mayo. If you want to spend some time out of the city, you can go to Tigre as a daytrip from Buenos Aires. Tigre is a nice relaxed town next to Buenos Aires and you can spend some hours there.

We visited La Boca neighborhood, which felt very touristic and not really interesting, except for the colorful buildings. The safe area is only 2 streets, full of restaurants and souvenir stands. Luckily, at the time we visited La Boca, there was an amazing exhibition of the artist Ron Mueck, who does incredible hyper-realistic sculptures of humens. It was worth visiting La Boca just for that!

For nightlife and great restaurants go to Palermo neighborhood and enjoy the fun vibe and the good food.
