Ready for Some Adrenaline? Skydive in Cordoba

Cordoba is a lovely city with beautiful colonial houses and impressive churches. It’s a great place to enjoy nightlife, and also famous for…skydiving!

We stayed at Che Salguero Youth Hostel in Cordoba. We booked 2 nights and ended up staying a full week! This hostel is one of the best we’ve stayed in. The hostel owned by 3 great guys that can help you with everything. The beds here are so comfortable. The breakfast is served untill very late which is great cause we didn’t want to wake up early. Good kitchen for cooking. We met cool friends and had some funny evenings. We even went to a football game with one of the owners. We truly recommend this wonderful hostel!

Our rating for Che Salguero Youth Hoste is 10 out of 10!

In cordoba we enjoyed walking along the beautiful streets, plazas and parks. I was really impressed by the cathedral and the neo-gothic Iglesia de los Capuchinos. Stunning architecture!

In the nights we found some cool music live shows. Our hostel was a great place to relax and also to meet people and have fun time.

One afternoon we went to see a football game with Santiago, one of the owners of the hostel and his friends. It was such a fun experience! The game was between Talleres and Buenos Aires. We were told that Talleres, the group we were cheering to, didn’t win a game for so long, and still, the fans of this group were so optimistic. It was the first football game we ever attended to, so it was a new experience for us, to see all the passionate fans, with the cheering songs and the crazy vibe! We enjoyed it a lot. And guess what? Talleres won this spesific game! We gave them some good luck…(=

One of the reasons for visiting Cordoba is to do skydiving. We’ve heard so many recommendations about skydiving in Alta Gracia, a city near Cordoba. I always wanted to skydive. I’ve talked to people who did it and they all agreed that it’s an experience that will stay with me for a life time. When we got to Cordoba I was suddenly very scared and not sure if I’m ready for jumping off an airplane. I kept thinking about bad things that can happen…what if…and what if…

The fact that Oded and I did it together helped me a lot. He gave me the courage to do it. We booked the skydive through the hostel. The people from ‘Paracaidismo’ company came to pick us up early in the morning. I almost did’nt sleep all night, as I was no nervous…

The skydive cost us 1580 Peso (188 USD) per person, including the video and photos, jumping from 2,500 meters (8,500 feet).

We were given some instructions and got on the airplane. I didn’t imagine the airplane would be so small! We started flying and my heart was like in a race. I think that was the scariest part, flying up in this small airplane and waiting for the moment to jump…

We finally reached the point and Oded jumped first. He disappeared so fast, I was shocked. We were so high in the sky. And then my torn came. We reached the open door, I sat there for few seconds, felt the strong wind and was nervous for being so incredibly high.

And then…We jumped!

I was flying. I was free falling. I was screaming. I was scared. I was happy.

I decided to do the skydive with my glasses, and had the protection mask above it. Apparently, I didn’t tight the protection mask enough, and after few seconds of free falling, the wind blew the protection mask and my glasses away…I didn’t worry about that at all, since I brought another pair of glasses from Israel to this trip.

After 25 seconds of crazy free falling, the guide opened the parachute. Than I had time to relax. To feel like a bird in the sky. To enjoy the amazing landscape below me. Unfortunately, my guide had a big belly, so I felt a lot of pressure from the straps, it was too tight. Oded had a thinner guide and didn’t feel any pressure…

Oded wasn't as scared as I was. He enjoyed it a lot!

It’s hard to describe in words the crazy feeling of skydiving. I think only someone who did it might understand. One thing I can say for sure:

I’ll never forget it.

This crazy moment jumping off the airplane and falling from the sky, will stay with me forever. When we landed, I was so happy, I kissed the ground. I felt such a relief, but at the same time, I felt like I can do it again, immediately!

Will I ever skydive again?

Maybe. It was such an incredible experience, I might do it again some day. Until then, I’ll keep closing my eyes and imagine myself screaming like crazy!

The sensation of parachute jumping is unique and surprising, there is no such thing as feeling the adrenaline and the heart beating stronger when you finally get up high and is ready for jumping, with only your feet to the outside. Inexplicable! Sivan, come jump in the South America one time, the view here is incredible and you will enjoy it for sure. Including, I recommend the skydiving in Brazil which is very safe and with quality. This place: https://www.skydivefoz.com/en/ is great! I recommend it!
